Fresh Produce | Repacking | Distribution | Packaging About the Role Market Value Packhouse and PeelON are looking for an experienced, hands-on leader to run and grow fresh produce repack operations in the Rio Grande Valley . This is not a desk-only operations position. The ideal candidate understands fresh produce, knows how a packhouse or repack operation works, can manage crews and production, is comfortable working directly with growers, importers, distributors and retailers, and has the commercial mindset to develop new business. The individual will oversee day-to-day repack operations while helping expand MVP's customer base and supporting the commercialisation of PeelON's innovative produce packaging solutions across the region. What You Will OwnRepack Operations Lead daily repack production and scheduling. Plan labor and staffing based on customer requirements and incoming volume. Ensure production targets, customer specifications and delivery deadlines are achieved. Work closely with QC and Food Safety teams to maintain PrimusGFS and customer requirements. Monitor labor utilization, throughput, waste, production costs and profitability. Identify and implement improvements that increase productivity and reduce operating costs. Serve as the primary operational contact for repack customers. These responsibilities are central to the existing position specification. Business Development & Customer Growth Develop new repack customers and processing opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with growers, shippers, importers, exporters, distributors, processors and retailers . Visit customers, warehouses, ranches, distribution centers and production facilities throughout the region. Identify new services and packaging programs that create measurable value for customers. Prepare pricing proposals and support commercial negotiations. Work with ownership to develop and execute the growth strategy for the repack business. Help convert trials and initial projects into recurring commercial accounts. This commercial responsibility is already a significant component of the role. PeelON Packaging Programs Serve as the operational and commercial lead for PeelON programs running through Market Value Packhouse.

You will:

Introduce PeelON packaging solutions to relevant MVP customers. Coordinate customer trials and commercial implementations. Manage PeelON packaging inventory at MVP. Forecast packaging requirements based on customer demand. Coordinate replenishment and purchase orders. Ensure proper receiving, storage and usage of PeelON materials. Collect customer and operational feedback. Work with PeelON to convert successful trials into recurring commercial programs. The original JD specifically assigns inventory, forecasting, replenishment, implementation and performance-feedback responsibilities to this position. Team Leadership Recruit, train and develop repack crews and supervisors. Establish clear accountability and production expectations. Develop and maintain SOPs and operational best practices. Coach supervisors and team leaders. Build a culture focused on safety, quality, productivity and customer service . Produce Commercial Support Support produce buying and selling activities when required. Identify market opportunities and customer demand. Build relationships with growers, suppliers and importers. Assist with pricing and commercial negotiations. Coordinate with operations to ensure product meets customer specifications. Who We're Looking For We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in: Fresh produce packing, repacking or distribution Produce importing/exporting Packhouse or warehouse operations Fresh produce sales or business development Production and labor management Food safety and quality systems Customer relationship management Experience within the Rio Grande Valley produce industry is strongly preferred. Existing relationships with growers, importers, distributors, retailers or produce companies in McAllen, Pharr, Mission, Edinburg, Weslaco, Harlingen and the broader RGV region would be highly valuable. Ideal Candidate You may currently be a: Repack Manager, Operations Manager, Packhouse Manager, Production Manager, Warehouse Manager, Produce Sales Manager, General Manager, or Director of Operations and are ready for a broader leadership role combining operations, customers and business growth . We're looking for someone who can walk the production floor in the morning, solve an operational problem before lunch, meet a customer in the afternoon, and identify the next commercial opportunity before the end of the day. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months: Repack operations consistently achieve quality, productivity and profitability targets. Labor utilization and production efficiency improve. Existing customers receive consistently high service levels. New repack customers and revenue are added. Successful trials convert into recurring programs. PeelON packaging adoption expands across MVP customers. Inventory and supply planning operate without disruption. The repack operation becomes a stronger and more scalable commercial platform. These outcomes closely follow the success criteria in the existing JD. You will have the opportunity to help build and scale a growing fresh-produce platform in the Rio Grande Valley while introducing new packaging technologies that can change how produce is packed, transported and sold.
