We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead the day-to-day non-clinical operations of our inpatient substance abuse treatment center. This is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory readiness, staff accountability, and a safe, therapeutic environment for both patients and employees. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare operations leader with a background in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, residential healthcare, or a related setting. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads multidisciplinary teams with integrity, and is passionate about supporting high-quality patient care through operational excellence. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of all non-clinical operations within the facility. Directly supervise Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), Facilities, Dietary Services, and other operational departments. Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, supervision, coaching, and performance management of operational team members. Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment that meets state, federal, and accreditation standards. Oversee facility maintenance, life safety systems, preventative maintenance programs, environmental safety, and emergency preparedness. Ensure compliance with infection control, sanitation, dietary, and environmental health standards. Lead regulatory survey preparation and maintain continuous readiness for state licensing and accreditation inspections. Monitor operational budgets and departmental expenditures while promoting efficiency and fiscal responsibility. Review and approve payroll for operational departments. Coordinate transportation and operational logistics in partnership with admissions and clinical leadership. Oversee incident reporting, corrective action plans, and operational quality improvement initiatives. Participate in leadership meetings, quality committees, and organizational performance improvement efforts. Serve as a resource for operational issues while collaborating closely with the Executive Director and Clinical Leadership. Remain available to respond to operational emergencies when necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Behavioral Health, Public Health, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred but not required. Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, healthcare, residential treatment, or a similar healthcare environment. Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Experience overseeing facilities operations, environmental safety, and operational compliance. Knowledge of state licensing regulations, Joint Commission/CARF standards, and regulatory survey processes is highly preferred. Experience managing operational budgets and departmental resources. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively across clinical and administrative departments. Preferred Experience Inpatient substance abuse treatment Detox and residential levels of care Medicaid and behavioral healthcare operations Joint Commission and/or CARF accreditation Environment of Care and Life Safety compliance Emergency preparedness and risk management
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
