Airfield Estates Winery

Part-Time Wine Tasting Room Sales and Hospitality Associate

Job Description

Airfield Estates Winery is a family-owned winery and estate vineyard rooted in Washington's Yakima Valley. We produce a diverse portfolio of estate-grown wines and are committed to creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional hospitality, engaging wine education, and genuine connection. With tasting rooms in Prosser, Woodinville, and Vancouver, our goal is to make every guest feel welcome—from first-time visitors to longtime wine club members—while sharing the wines, vineyard, people, and history that make Airfield Estates unique. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and sales-minded individual to join our Woodinville team as a Part-Time Tasting Room Sales & Hospitality Associate. This is an active, fast-paced hospitality and sales position in a busy tasting room that moves a high volume of wine. Team members are regularly on their feet, stocking and moving cases of wine, assisting multiple guests, and helping keep the tasting room running smoothly throughout the day. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, stays productive in a fast-moving environment, and is comfortable balancing exceptional hospitality with proactive wine sales and wine club membership growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospitality & Guest Experience Warmly greet guests and create a welcoming, memorable experience from the moment they arrive. Guide guests through wine tastings and confidently share information about our wines, vineyard, winemaking, and history. Be attentive and anticipate guest needs throughout their visit. Build genuine relationships with guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable, professional service. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing tasting room. Assist with tasting room events, wine club events, private events, VIP tastings, and occasional off-site events. Wine Sales & Wine Club Proactively recommend and sell Airfield Estates wines based on guest preferences. Educate guests about our wine club and clearly communicate membership benefits. Encourage wine club sign-ups and help build long-term relationships with our members. Promote upcoming winery events, new releases, and special offerings. Work toward individual and team sales and wine club membership goals. Product Knowledge Learn the history and story of Airfield Estates and confidently share it with guests. Develop a strong working knowledge of our wines, vineyard, winemaking practices, and current releases. Stay informed about upcoming events, promotions, wine club offerings, and tasting room activities. Tasting Room Operations & Teamwork Assist with opening and closing procedures. Stock wine, merchandise, packaging, food items, and other supplies. Assist with light food preparation. Help maintain inventory and merchandising displays. Use downtime productively by restocking, cleaning, preparing food, organizing, and completing other operational tasks. Work collaboratively with the Airfield Crew and contribute to a positive, respectful team environment. Be willing to jump in wherever needed during busy shifts and events.
SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position primarily requiring Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability, with occasional weekday shifts, evening events, holidays, and off-site events. Weekend availability is an important requirement of this position.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be available to work weekends and a flexible schedule. Must obtain or maintain a valid Washington Class 12 MAST Permit and Washington State Food Worker Card. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, outgoing, professional, and comfortable engaging with a wide variety of guests. Strong customer service mindset with an interest in sales. Ability to confidently recommend products and ask for the sale. Ability to learn and communicate wine, vineyard, and winery information. Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn POS systems. Previous hospitality, customer service, retail, restaurant, or sales experience preferred. Wine knowledge is helpful, but a strong willingness to learn is equally important. Dependable, punctual, positive, and able to work well as part of a team. Ability to safely lift and move cases of wine weighing approximately 45-50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of 8+ hours.
