Job Description:

The Seasonal Packaging Associate fills a vital role in our operation. The function of this position is to package all products produced by Heart of the Desert Pistachios. Safe and responsible handling of food products is critical to our success. Attention to detail ensures that the products are safe, attractive, and properly packaged : Seasonal positions may be part-time or full-time. The position last from start date to late December. Package food products properly using various automated packaging machines, scales, and by following established policies and procedures Visually inspect machines, and equipment for proper operation Assist in visual inspections for quality control of products Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing duties Properly follow rules and procedures and complete task-related documentation Must be able to lift/carry 40 lbs. frequently throughout the assigned work schedule Ability to climb/descend small step ladder, and stairs Must have good basic math skills and ability to document accurately Ability to speak/understand verbal English and read/write in English Must be able to accurately read, calibrate, and operate scales and automated equipment Must be able to operate a pallet jack and hand truck (will train) Must have good hygiene (food safety guidelines) Ability to work weekends and overtime (when required) Must be able to learn procedures, processes and safety procedures and properly follow them Must be punctual and present for scheduled work High School Diploma or equivalent Previous commercial food handling experience (preferred not required) Food Handler's certificate (will train) Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
