Warehouse Worker role-- Hiring in Mechanicsburg, PA, start ASAP! Job Description This hands-on warehouse role is responsible for moving products through all stages of the distribution operation, including receiving, put away, picking, packing, and shipping. You will work in a fast-paced distribution center, operate powered industrial equipment, use barcode scanners and computer systems, and stay active throughout 8 to 12-hour shifts while maintaining strong safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Load and unload inbound trucks and work directly with common carriers to ensure efficient receiving operations. Verify incoming products against shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness. Process inbound shipments, packing lists, and receipts using SAP and other warehouse systems. Receive inventory using barcode scanners and computer systems, ensuring accurate data entry. Sort and put away products in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures. Break down and unload floor-loaded containers safely and efficiently. Operate powered industrial equipment such as order pickers, turret trucks, forklifts, and manual or electric pallet jacks. Pick products for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests with a focus on order accuracy. Use barcode scanners, pick tickets, and shipping documentation to ensure correct items and quantities are picked. Perform bin location audits, carton transfers, and unit-load transfers to maintain inventory accuracy. Weigh or count materials to confirm correct quantities before orders move to packing and shipping. Review packing instructions and shipping requirements before preparing orders for shipment. Package products according to customer specifications and quality standards. Print and apply required labels and shipping documentation to cartons and pallets. Identify hazardous or flammable materials and follow established procedures for safe shipment. Follow all applicable packaging specifications and quality requirements to protect products in transit. Prepare cartons and palletized loads for shipment, ensuring loads are stable and secure. Apply required shipment and carrier documentation, including manifests and bills of lading. Stretch wrap or band palletized shipments as needed to maintain load integrity. Generate manifests and bills of lading and verify carton counts before releasing shipments. Coordinate carrier pickups to meet shipping schedules and customer expectations. Load and unload materials using forklifts and manual or electric pallet jacks. Follow distribution center procedures and comply with quality, environmental, health, and safety policies at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, order picking, forklift operation, or material handling is preferred. Experience operating powered order pickers, forklifts, turret trucks, electric and manual pallet jacks, and stretch wrapping machines is an asset. Experience with SAP or similar warehouse management systems is a plus. Openness to training on forklift operation; prior forklift (FLO) experience is beneficial but not required. Why Work Here?
