Our Global Procurement team plays a critical role in sourcing the direct and indirect materials, capex, and services that power our operations. Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our Global Procurement team. This pivotal role will lead a team of capital Procurement Specialists, consultants, and other stakeholders in developing the capital equipment strategy associated with the Nippon/USS transaction. This position will collaborate with engineering, operations, legal and finance teams to source and manage procurement of high-value capital assets. The ideal candidate will bring experience in equipment procurement at U. S. Steel. Key Responsibilities Lead a team of procurement professionals and consultants Lead the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams to define technical specifications and procurement timelines. Support capital project planning by providing cost estimates, lead time analysis, and supplier capability assessments. Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with corporate objectives and deliver cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation. Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to inform sourcing decisions and support innovation. Ensure all procurement activities comply with corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. Minimum 3-years' experience leading teams Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting capital projects at U. S. Steel. Familiarity with the Nippon/USS transaction or similar M&A-driven capital initiatives. Knowledge of global sourcing and supplier qualification processes. Why Join Us?
