Procurement & Supply Chain Manager Objective:
To lead procurement and supply chain operations by securing high-quality materials at competitive prices, ensuring on-time delivery, and optimizing vendor relationships to support successful commercial and residential landscape and irrigation construction projects while maximizing profitability.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all procurement activities for the projects division at Bath. This will include commercial and residential landscape and irrigation construction. This position ensures materials are procured accurately, competitively, and delivered on schedule to support field operations while maximizing profitability. The role will initially oversee purchasing for the Commercial Landscape Construction and Irrigation divisions before expanding responsibilities to Residential Construction and Landscape Maintenance. This position develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing agreements, manages purchasing systems, supports estimating and operations, and continuously improves procurement processes to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Key Objectives Strengthen vendor relationships and pricing leverage Support estimators and operations managers with accurate pricing and availability data Ensure uninterrupted material availability for all projects Reduce overall material costs while maintaining quality standards Improve purchasing efficiency and purchase order accuracy Improve inventory accuracy Support project schedules through proactive procurement Continuously improve purchasing processes and supply chain performance Purchasing & Procurement Negotiate competitive pricing in alignment with market conditions Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records Purchase all landscape construction, irrigation, hardscape, drainage, lighting, erosion control, site amenities and miscellaneous project materials Review project estimates and material take-offs for purchasing accuracy Issue and manage purchase orders in a timely manner Coordinate deliveries with Project Managers and Superintendents Monitor long lead-time items and proactively prevent project delays Ensure purchased materials meet project specifications and quality standards Maintain accurate purchasing documentation within company software Resolve purchasing discrepancies and supplier issues promptly Vendor Relations & Strategic Sourcing Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers Negotiate annual pricing agreements and preferred vendor contracts Evaluate vendors based on pricing, quality, service, availability, and delivery performance Solicit competitive pricing for major purchases Travel to suppliers and manufacturers as needed to strengthen partnerships Identify new suppliers that improve value and reduce company risk Monitor market conditions and communicate material cost trends to management and estimating Cost Management Identify opportunities for cost savings through purchasing strategies Standardize commonly used materials where appropriate Evaluate bulk purchasing, early buy programs, and seasonal purchasing opportunities Track purchase price variances and vendor pricing improvements Assist in developing annual material budgets. Monitor material cost impacts on project profitability Inventory & Warehouse Coordination Assist in developing inventory control procedures Coordinate stock purchases for commonly used consumables and materials Minimize excess and obsolete inventory Participate in inventory audits and reconciliation Work closely with warehouse personnel to improve receiving and material tracking Ensure timely resolution of damaged, incorrect, or missing deliveries Job Requirements Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered
Five or more years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management experience, preferably within landscape construction, commercial construction, irrigation, or a related industry
Demonstrated experience sourcing construction materials, negotiating supplier agreements, and managing vendor performance
Proven success coordinating procurement activities across multiple commercial and residential projects while meeting budget and schedule requirements
Experience with inventory management, forecasting, and logistics coordination
Proficiency with ERP, purchasing, inventory management, and Microsoft Office software, with advanced Excel skills preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, supply chain management, vendor sourcing, and contract negotiation
Understanding of commercial and residential landscape construction materials, irrigation systems, equipment, and related products
Ability to develop strategic supplier partnerships that improve cost, quality, and service
Excellent analytical, budgeting, and cost management skills with a focus on profitability
Strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and relationship-building skills with vendors, project managers, field personnel, and executive leadership
Skilled in forecasting material needs and coordinating deliveries to support project schedules
Ability to analyze market trends, material availability, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions
High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in purchasing, documentation, and inventory control
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to respond quickly to changing project requirements
Self-motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and exceptional customer service Work Environment Primarily office-based with regular interaction with project managers, field operations, vendors, and suppliers.
May occasionally visit commercial and residential landscape construction sites where exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, construction equipment, dust, noise, and other outdoor elements may occur. Physical Requirements
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching during office, warehouse, and project site visits
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to travel locally to project sites, supplier locations, and company facilities as required
Must be able to safely navigate active construction and landscape job sites while complying with all company safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

Employees become eligible for benefits starting the month following the one in which they first work 130 hours or more; subsequently, they must maintain a minimum of 130 hours of work in each succeeding month to retain such eligibility. Bath employees who have 6 months of tenure and have completed 1,000 hours of service are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan. The company provides a 100% matching contribution on the first 3% and a 50% match on the next 2% of the compensation the employee elects to defer into the plan.
