Set buying practices that control cost, protect supply continuity, and match production demand. Lead the buyers who report to this seat and handle the larger supplier negotiations. What you will do Build and run a sourcing plan tied to operations, inventory, and cost targets Lead, coach, and review the purchasing team (training and performance included) Own the full PO lifecycle: accuracy, timing, and total cost Run market scans for new sources and supply-risk gaps Work with Operations, Engineering, and Finance on demand forecasts and stock levels Stay inside applicable law, internal policy, and industry rules, including the Gun Control Act (GCA), National Firearms Act (NFA), ITAR, and ATF requirements Improve buying processes and the systems behind them Report procurement KPIs to senior leadership Sit in senior supplier negotiations and reviews Screen and vet suppliers for legal eligibility to handle firearm components Keep serialized-part traceability from supplier through finished goods per ATF rules Keep complete purchase files (certs, compliance records, and related paperwork) Put confidentiality and IP-protection language into supplier contracts Stand up backup / pre-qualified suppliers and contingency plans Other work as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager or executive team Supplier management Design an SRM approach that holds long-term value, not just unit price Run selection with pre-qualification, financial/geopolitical/compliance risk review, capability and quality-system audits, and performance benchmarks Maintain scorecards: on-time delivery, quality/defects, responsiveness, cost, and improvement activity Hold quarterly business reviews; close issues and lock next-period goals Push joint cost-down, development work, and multi-year agreements with core suppliers Own onboarding and offboarding, including docs, compliance checks, and ERP setup Drive SCARs, root-cause work, and escalations when suppliers miss Watch the supply base and markets for alternate sources Authority Direct Purchasing Agents on this team Approve buys within the assigned spend limit Add approved new suppliers in the system Recommend min/max and safety stock from usage, lead time, and demand Requirements Bachelor's in business, supply chain, or a recognized purchasing credential (CPM, CPSM, or equivalent) 5+ years procurement or supply chain; at least 3 years leading people

Vision needs include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustment. Occasional lift up to 35 lb; frequent lift up to 25 lb (parts to and from storage and the work area).
