Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Material Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement department. In this role, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and oversee inventory levels to ensure that all materials meet our quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management :
Identify, research, and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and speed of delivery. Maintain and manage long-term relationships with key vendors.
Negotiation :
Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Inventory Control :
Monitor and forecast material demand to maintain optimum stock levels, preventing both shortages and excessive surplus. Purchase Order (PO)
Management :
Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders, ensuring they conform to company policies and budgets.
Cost Analysis & Budgeting :
Analyze market trends and financial reports to identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain departmental budgets.
Compliance & Quality Assurance :
Ensure all procured materials meet established quality standards and that procurement activities comply with legal and ethical regulations.
Team Leadership :
Supervise and train a team of buyers and purchasing agents, setting performance goals and conducting regular appraisals.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience :
Typically, 5+ years of experience in procurement or materials management, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
Technical Proficiency :
Strong experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Analytical Skills :
Ability to analyze complex data sets to forecast demand and evaluate supplier performance.
Interpersonal Skills :
Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities to collaborate cross-functionally and manage external partnerships. Preferred Certifications Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM). Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM). APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM).

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
