We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Buyer specializing in Chemical Procurement to join our procurement team. In this pivotal role, you will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of chemicals essential for manufacturing and operational excellence. Your expertise will drive procurement efficiency, uphold compliance with regulatory standards, and support our commitment to quality and sustainability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence supply chain strategies in a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to continuous improvement and operational success. Essential Functions Lead end-to-end procurement processes for chemicals, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and purchase order management using ERP systems such as Sage, SAP and Oracle EBS. Develop and implement category management strategies to optimize chemical procurement categories, ensuring alignment with overall supply chain objectives. Manage vendor relationships through effective supplier management practices, including performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Negotiate procurement contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining compliance with procurement regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and public sector purchasing standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality management, logistics, and project teams to align procurement activities with production planning and quality requirements. Conduct market research and supply chain analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance supply chain resilience for critical chemical materials. Experience, Education and Skills Proven experience, 5-8 years, in procurement management within the chemical industry or manufacturing sector with a focus on chemicals or raw materials. Extensive vendor contract management experience including direct negotiation of procurement contracts and supplier agreements. Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as Sage, SAP, Oracle EBS, or equivalent platforms used for procurement and materials management. Familiarity with procurement regulatory frameworks including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and public sector purchasing standards. Demonstrated ability in strategic sourcing, category management, logistics coordination, and supply chain optimization. Experience in project management related to procurement initiatives or supply chain improvements is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills combined with analytical abilities for root cause analysis and problem-solving within complex supply environments. Professional credentials such as CPSM or
APICS/CSCP
are highly valued.
