full-time We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement function for our nonprofit organization. This role is responsible for sourcing goods and services, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring purchasing activities align with budget requirements, organizational policies, and donor or grant compliance standards. The Purchasing Manager plays a key role in supporting efficient operations while maximizing the value of organizational resources. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and internal controls. Manage the procurement of supplies, equipment, services, and other organizational needs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve best value while maintaining quality standards. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to forecast purchasing needs. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with nonprofit regulations, grant requirements, and internal budget guidelines. Review and approve purchase orders, requisitions, and vendor invoices. Track procurement spending and prepare reports for leadership on cost savings, vendor performance, and purchasing trends. Collaborate with finance and program teams to ensure proper allocation of expenses and adherence to funding restrictions. Resolve vendor issues, discrepancies, and delivery problems in a professional and timely manner. Lead efforts to improve procurement efficiency and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably within a nonprofit, government, education, or mission-driven organization. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and vendor management. Familiarity with budgeting, grant compliance, and nonprofit financial processes is highly desirable. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing or ERP systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
