EFINITION
: Under general supervision, recruits, interviews and qualifies potential families for Somerton School District No. 11.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

TASKS :
Greet parents daily in the morning. Excellent organizational skills; ability to complete multiple tasks as assigned. Coordinate and organize a parent volunteer program. Recruit parents to serve on school committees. Conduct home visits to parents of students with high absentee rates; document all visits and conferences. Provide outreach activities designed to acquaint parents with school standards. Provide assistance in parent teacher conferences including translation services. Attend school functions held in the evening; participates in various community fairs and open house events as related. Refrain from political activities while representing the school and the school district. Refer families to outside service providers in the area as needed. Protect confidential information. Assist with special events and projects. Lead meeting groups. Monitor and supervise students before, during, and after school to ensure their safety and well-being. Duties include maintaining a secure environment, enforcing school rules, and responding to incidents as needed. Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
: Knowledge of school learning methods and techniques. Knowledge of District policies and procedures affecting assigned work. Knowledge of District behavior modification program. Knowledge of program planning and implementation. Knowledge of the community and familiarity with Yuma County service provider network. Skill in assisting parents and students. Skill in elective oral and written communication. Skill in following oral and written instructions. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Work requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Some positions may require bending and lifting up to 25 pounds. May be exposed to infectious diseases and body fluid borne pathogens.
QUALIFICATIONS
: High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year childcare or classroom assistance experience. Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) required at the time of hiring.
