Job Description

International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) is a global network of more than 1,700 medical professionals across 25+ countries, advancing excellence in the assessment of musculoskeletal health through education, certification, and official positions. We are seeking a strategic, innovative, and execution-driven Director of Education to lead the development, delivery, and growth of ISCD's educational portfolio—with a major emphasis on scaling our on-demand learning programs, expanding educational revenue, and elevating the overall quality and accessibility of ISCD content. Position Overview The Director of Education is responsible for the strategic development, execution, evaluation, and continuous improvement of ISCD's learning programs across all delivery formats: in-person, virtual, hybrid, and digital/on-demand. This leader will work closely with the CEO, volunteer leadership, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to build a cohesive, modern, and financially sustainable educational ecosystem. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Lead the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of ISCD's education strategy, with priority given to expanding the quantity, quality, and financial performance of on-demand educational offerings. Align all educational initiatives with organizational mission, strategic plan, member needs, and long-term growth objectives. Program Development & Management Design and deliver high-quality learning programs across multiple modalities (in-person, virtual, hybrid, digital, on-demand). Evaluate member and industry learning needs; develop new programs and revise existing offerings to meet identified needs. Partner with SMEs to develop and modernize content using innovative educational technologies, interactive learning modalities, and proven adult-learning methodologies. Stakeholder Collaboration Work collaboratively with the CEO, staff, Board, Education Committee Chair, and relevant committees to execute approved program plans. Engage and manage SMEs effectively to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and consistency. Quality, Compliance & Growth Maintain compliance with CME requirements (ACCME, ASRT), ensuring educational integrity and accreditation standards are met. Support and expand medical education grant development, submission, and reconciliation. Monitor performance metrics and ensure programs meet engagement, attendance, and budget targets. Operational & Financial Oversight Provide annual and program-specific budget recommendations, with a focus on revenue growth opportunities in digital and on-demand learning. Recommend and implement educational policies, procedures, and quality standards. Year 1 Success Goals Execute the education strategy developed through the new strategic plan; refine and implement with strong emphasis on scaling up on-demand education modules. Launch new educational offerings identified through member needs assessments and strategic priorities. Increase engagement and financial sustainability across all programs. Build strong working relationships with SMEs and volunteer leaders. Establish and execute updated processes for tracking program performance and learner outcomes. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred (education, adult learning, professional development, or related field). Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and managing live (in-person and virtual), on-demand, and digital education programs. Experience with CME requirements (ACCME, ASRT) and compliance. Strong understanding of instructional design, educational technologies, and adult learning principles. Ability to manage budgets, grow programs, and identify new revenue opportunities. Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder-engagement skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, mission-driven environment. Ability to work evenings and weekends, travel domestically and internationally, as program needs require. Preferred Experience in a medical society or association environment. Familiarity with Association Management Systems and Learning Management Systems (Protech and Elevate). Experience and comfort using the Microsoft 365 Suite of products Proven success in medical education grant writing and reconciliation or similar grant experience. Reporting Structure, Work Location & Salary Range This position reports to the Executive Director & CEO. ISCD operates with a hybrid work model. This role is expected to be on-site in Middletown, CT , at least two days per week.
