Senior Companion Program Coordinator

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Senior Companion Program Coordinator is a passionate, organized professional responsible for managing and expanding the Senior Companion Program. This role recruits, trains, and supports a diverse team of volunteers age 55 and older, helping advance the mission of the Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Programs while ensuring a positive, rewarding experience for volunteers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records and monthly timesheets.
  • Interview, orient, and train new volunteers.
  • Keep volunteer databases and files current.
  • Match volunteers to roles based on their skills, interests, and program needs.
  • Serve as the main contact for volunteers and placement sites, providing ongoing support and guidance.
  • Prepare documentation to support clear communication among volunteers, placement sites, staff, and AmeriCorps.
  • Travel throughout the nine-county service area.
  • Recruit clients and volunteers through presentations and community connections.
  • Ensure agency practices, procedures, and outcomes comply with AmeriCorps Seniors regulations, guidelines, and grant or contract requirements.
  • Support community resource fairs and maintain a visible presence in senior-focused community settings.
  • Conduct and document client care plans with volunteers and clients.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Previous experience in volunteer management, program coordination, social work, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively guide volunteers.
  • Proficiency with volunteer management software and standard office applications.
  • Genuine dedication to volunteerism and community engagement.
  • Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and current automobile insurance.
  • This is a grant funded position which is subject to availability of funds
Pay:
$35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
