Job purpose:

The role of the Program Director is to Coordinate and oversee all Program Staff and instructors, plan and execute all live and virtual programs and provide support to the rest of the team as needed.

Job status:

Full-Time:

37.5 hours per week; Exempt Must be 18 years of age or older.

Required:

2-year or 4-year degree preferably in areas of rehabilitation or healthcare Experience working with adults with disabilities. Proficient computer skills. Familiarity with the Zoom virtual platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises all instructors, interns, teachers, and volunteers in the program department. Work with Program Staff to ensure that all programs meet desired outcomes. Participate in VLANJ's management team, demonstrating a commitment to building cooperation and collaboration among all staff, programs, and departments. Ensure that daily programs are organized, planned, and run according to established curriculums. Welcomes, communicates, and updates changes to participants at the start of each in-person program day. Responsible for ensuring that all program spaces are clean and organized for the safety of the program participants. In the absence of instructors, will facilitate/teach classes as necessary. Coordinate participant transportation through Access Link and rideshare services, while assisting participants with morning and afternoon transportation needs, including safely entering and exiting the facility. Facilitate virtual programs and identify and schedule guest speakers. Responsible for the intake coordination for new participants both in-person and virtual. Develop and maintain program procedures and guidelines with the highest quality standards of practice by encouraging ethical and professional competency and conduct among program department staff. Conduct Performance Reviews with full-time and part-time program staff members, identifying goals and areas of development and/or improvement. Manage and oversee the timesheet and payroll process for program staff and independent contractors, ensuring accurate and timely submission, review, approval, and documentation of hours worked and services provided. Responsible for conducting "Awareness Training & Blindness Etiquette" for all instructors, staff and volunteers. Participate in efforts to strengthen and build partnerships with other organizations aimed at fostering the development of collaborative projects. Plan, facilitate, and execute Orientation & Mobility community excursions throughout the year. Participate in the grant acquisition process for all program-related grant requests, including providing program information, data, outcomes, and other materials needed to support successful grant applications and reporting. Attend Board meetings as necessary to educate Board members about VLANJ programs, community needs, program recommendations, and provide outcomes and evaluation reports on the impact of the VLANJ's programs and services. Pay:

$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
