Group Facilitator DB House Sober Living Saddle Brook, NJ Job Details Contract $180 - $250 a day 1 day ago Qualifications Substance abuse treatment center experience Recovery peer support Substance abuse counseling Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders Group counseling Group therapy instruction Full Job Description Group Facilitator - Substance Use Disorder / Recovery Program Morning & Afternoon Groups | CPRS or Higher Required Saddle Brook Counseling Center is looking for a dynamic, engaging Group Facilitator to lead morning and afternoon groups within our substance use disorder treatment program. We are not looking for someone who simply reads from a worksheet and watches the clock. We want someone who can command a room, connect with clients, challenge unhealthy thinking, and create meaningful conversations around recovery and real-life change. What You'll Do Facilitate engaging, structured recovery-focused groups Create discussion around accountability, relapse prevention, relationships, life skills, emotional regulation, recovery principles, and personal growth Encourage participation while maintaining appropriate boundaries and group structure Help clients connect treatment concepts to their everyday lives Work collaboratively with our clinical and recovery-support team Maintain required group documentation in a timely and professional manner Bring energy, authenticity, and consistency to the program Minimum Qualifications CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) or higher credential
REQUIRED
Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders Strong communication and group facilitation skills Ability to appropriately manage different personalities and challenging group dynamics Reliable, professional, and comfortable working as part of a team Highly Preferred Strong familiarity with 12-Step recovery Personal or professional experience within the recovery community Experience facilitating groups in an IOP, outpatient, residential, sober-living, or other behavioral-health setting Understanding of recovery beyond the clinical setting — meetings, sponsorship, accountability, community, and rebuilding a life in recovery Who We're Looking For The ideal person is relatable but professional, compassionate but direct, and comfortable holding people accountable. You should be able to walk into a room and get people talking. We value facilitators who understand that effective groups don't have to feel like lectures — they can be honest, interactive, challenging, and even fun while still having a clear therapeutic/recovery purpose.
