Career Counselor / Program Specialist Shohola, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22741485 Summary Shohola, PA In-Person Competitive Salary 1 Years Experience Post-secondary education, no degree or certificate No Commission 37.50 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description Pike County is hiring a Career Counselor / Program Specialist to support WIOA Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth services. The role provides career counseling, case management, and job development for eligible county residents. Key Responsibilities Career services — Intake, eligibility review, career counseling, goal-setting, referrals, and support services. Youth program coordination — Assist with year-round and summer youth initiatives and school-to-work programming. Job development & employer engagement — Match clients with training and employment opportunities; maintain knowledge of the local job market. Case management — Track progress, attendance, and outcomes; maintain accurate data in CWDS. Training coordination — Work with training providers, prepare documentation, and support contracting. Community outreach — Build relationships with agencies, schools, and employers. Career coaching — Teach job-search skills, resume preparation, interviewing, and job retention strategies. Prepare reports, coordinate events, and assist with departmental operations in the absence of the Director. Requirements Understanding of WIOA guidelines and relevant federal and state workforce regulations. Strong communication and documentation skills, along with excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail. Capability to effectively work with diverse populations, including individuals facing employment barriers, while demonstrating empathy and a genuine commitment to helping others. Willingness to travel locally and regionally for outreach, meetings, and training sessions.
