full-time Our client is a growing general contractor based in Mount Prospect, IL , with an established reputation for delivering high-quality federal and commercial construction projects. As their project pipeline continues to expand, they are looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit company where you'll work closely with experienced project managers and leadership, take on meaningful responsibility, and develop your career within a growing construction business. Responsibilities Support Project Managers in managing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and execution plans. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, field teams, owners, architects, and engineers to support successful project delivery. Assist with managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation. Track project progress, deliverables, and outstanding items to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. Assist with reviewing subcontractor and supplier invoices, commitments, and project costs. Support project forecasting, financial reporting, and budget tracking. Help monitor compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations. Assist with identifying project risks, resolving issues, and implementing solutions in coordination with the Project Manager. Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation. Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with internal and external project stakeholders. Support the Project Manager and field team with day-to-day project coordination and administration. Qualifications Experience in commercial construction, preferably in an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar role. Federal construction experience is highly preferred. Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and project management principles. Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, project documentation, and client communications. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Strong desire to grow into a Project Manager role and take on increasing responsibility.
