Project Coordinator Dearborn County CASA Coalition Position Summary The Project Coordinator provides leadership, coordination, and administrative support for the Dearborn County CASA Coalition and its community prevention initiatives. This position serves as a key liaison between the Coalition and community partners, organizations, volunteers, and stakeholders throughout Dearborn County. The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating coalition activities, supporting grant implementation, strengthening community partnerships, and helping develop sustainable strategies that address substance use and other community health priorities. The goal of this role is to use community data to assess community factors leading to increased substance use and abuse amongst the teenage population. The successful candidate will be an organized, collaborative, and community-minded professional who can build relationships across diverse groups, manage multiple projects, communicate effectively, and translate community needs into meaningful prevention initiatives. The candidate should be able to work independently, be goal oriented, and able to manage time effectively. Essential Responsibilities Coalition Coordination & Community Engagement Serve as the primary liaison between the Dearborn County CASA Coalition and community partners, organizations, agencies, and stakeholders. Develop and maintain strong community partnerships that promote collaboration, networking, resource-sharing, and coordinated prevention efforts. Recruit and engage coalition members, volunteers, and community partners. We are looking to broaden the scope of our coalition. Coordinate member orientations and provide resources, communication, and support materials when needed. Facilitate collaboration among coalition members and work groups to find and fill any gaps Identify opportunities to expand community participation and strengthen the Coalition's impact. Grant & Program Management Provide effective day-to-day coordination and oversight of grant-funded activities. Ensure grant activities are implemented in accordance with approved goals, objectives, timelines, and requirements. Coordinate projects and activities associated with coalition initiatives. Maintain organizeddocumentation of coalition activities, accomplishments, participation, and outcomes. Prepare meeting materials, minutes, attendance records, reports, and other required documentation. Monitor project timelines and assist in ensuring deliverables are completed effectively and on schedule. Community Assessment, Planning & Evaluation Support community assessment activities designed to identify emerging needs, priorities, and opportunities. Work with the Director to develop and implement coalition strategic plans and community initiatives to reach strategic goals. Assist with project development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Collaborate with the Director and DCYA Coordinator to evaluator and ensure appropriatedata collection, analysis, reporting, and communication of outcomes. Utilize community data and evidence-based practices to inform prevention strategies andcoalition priorities. Communicate relevant findings and accomplishments to coalition members, communitypartners, funders, and other stakeholders. Youth Engagement & PreventionSupport youth-led prevention activities, in collaboration with the DCYA Coordinator andprovide opportunities for young people to participate meaningfully in community initiatives. Help develop and coordinate prevention efforts addressing substance use, mental health,and other identified community concerns. Build relationships with schools, youth-serving organizations, families, and othercommunity partners. Professional Development & Community Representation Attending required trainings and professional development opportunities. Remain informed regarding current research, prevention strategies, substance use trends, mental health issues, and evidence-based community interventions. Represent the Dearborn County CASA Coalition professionally at community meetings, trainings, conferences, and public events. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Associate degree in a health-related, human services, public health, social services, community development, or related field; or Two years of relevant professional experience in a health, human services, prevention, nonprofit, community development, or related field. Familiarity with Dearborn County and its population, organizations, and resources. Commitment to community-based prevention and improving outcomes for youth andfamilies. Ability to successfully complete required training and participate in ongoing professionaldevelopment. Must be proficient in computer-based skills and knowledgeable regarding spreadsheet andgrant monitoring software. Candidate must be available from 8am-8:30pm on most days; time is flexible but working hours will fall between those times including some weekends.
Preferred:
Experience working with coalitions, community organizations, grant-funded programs, volunteers, or youth. Experience with substance use prevention, mental health, public health, or community-based initiatives. Experience with grant administration, evaluation, or data-driven program planning. Ability to appropriately handle sensitive information and represent the Coalition with professionalism and integrity. Work Requirements Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week. Flexible schedule required, including occasional evenings and weekends for meetings, community events, trainings, and other Coalition activities. Regular travel throughout Dearborn County.
Occasional travel to conferences, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Compensation Salary:
up to $50,000 annually , commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is made available through a five-year federally funded grant. This position has no benefits attached to it.
