Position Overview This role has a strong Instrumentation & Controls focus and will lead projects involving control system modernization, PLC upgrades, process analyzer systems, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). The successful candidate will have experience managing instrumentation-driven capital projects and coordinating closely with operations, maintenance, process controls, and engineering teams. Role Context This role sits within capital project delivery focused on Instrumentation and Electrical projects in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry. The position involves leading small to mid-size projects through FEL, execution, and project close-out, while working closely with contractors, plant Operations and Maintenance personnel, vendors, and wider project teams. Key Responsibilities Lead projects involving PLC upgrades, control system migrations, and instrumentation modernization initiatives. Manage Safety Instrumented System (SIS) projects, including logic modifications, compliance activities, and integration with operating facilities. Oversee Distributed Control System (DCS) upgrades and enhancements, preferably within Honeywell environments. Coordinate analyzer upgrades and integration of process analyzers, including SEMS analyzer systems where applicable. Ensure instrumentation and control system changes are implemented in accordance with plant safety, reliability, and operational requirements. Work closely with process control and instrumentation specialists to develop project scope, execution strategies, and commissioning plans. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated experience managing Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) capital projects within refinery, petrochemical, or oil & gas facilities. Experience leading projects involving PLC upgrades, control system modifications, and instrumentation installations. Working knowledge of industrial control systems and plant automation environments. Experience with Honeywell DCS systems. Experience managing Safety Instrumented System (SIS) projects and instrumentation control logic modifications. Experience with analyzer systems, including SEMS analyzers and process analyzer upgrades. Strong instrumentation engineering background with exposure to process controls and automation systems. PMP certification strongly preferred. Experience supporting brownfield facility upgrades and control system modernization projects.
