Job Description

Survey Project Manager Position Summary If you're a skilled land surveyor ready to take on more leadership while working toward your Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license, come join us at PVS. We've been delivering top-notch surveying services in the DC metro area for over 20 years, and we're looking for someone who can handle fieldwork and project management with ease. This full-time position is based in Poolesville, MD, and offers a great mix of hands-on and strategic work, plus guidance from our two licensed surveyors. Main Responsibilities Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects, and internal teams to define project scopes and timelines. Conduct field efforts for topographic mapping, boundary or ALTA Surveys, and construction layout. Process the data, then prepare the grade sheets, reports, plats, surveys, descriptions or other appropriate deliverables for final QA/QC. Identify opportunities for process improvements, such as adopting new technologies or streamlining workflows, to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.

General Duties:

Collaborate with management on project scope and develop the project schedule. Ensure all work follows industry standards and company policies. Participate in training junior staff and contribute to a positive, high-performance team culture.

Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience:

8+ years of experience in land surveying, with at least 1-2 years in a senior technician or supervisory role. Willingness to pursue licensure strongly encouraged. CST Level III, or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

Proficiency with Leica surveying equipment. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson software. Strong understanding of surveying principles, including boundary law, topography, and construction layout. Physical fitness for fieldwork in various weather conditions, including lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to pass a background check.
