Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, quality-driven professional to support our Tooling Division in daily project activities and manage smaller component build assignments. This role offers hands-on exposure to all phases of plastic injection mold building and component project execution , including scheduling, cross-functional coordination, customer communication, cost awareness, and project tracking. This position is designed for someone with a strong background in toolmaking, mold building, or manufacturing who is interested in developing their project management skills and growing into a future Project Manager role. What You'll Do Project Planning & Coordination Assist Project Managers with developing, maintaining, and updating project plans for plastic injection mold builds, rebuilds, and component projects. Support scheduling activities across design, machining, assembly, sampling, purchased components, and final approval milestones. Manage assigned smaller-scale component build projects and portions of larger mold build programs. Monitor daily project activity and follow up on open action items. Prepare project status updates, reports, and action item lists. Scope, Cost & Change Management Evaluate and communicate the impact of design changes, product changes, and scope adjustments on project cost, timing, and mold performance. Support and manage scope changes through established change order processes. Monitor project costs and resource utilization. Identify potential project risks, including material availability and capacity constraints, and assist with mitigation plans. Customer & Internal Communication Communicate project progress, milestones, risks, and delivery expectations with customers and internal stakeholders. Proactively address concerns related to mold functionality, sampling results, and delivery timelines. Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain on track. Help build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to improve overall customer satisfaction. Resource & Vendor Coordination Assist with planning around machine capacity, labor requirements, and specialized skill sets needed for each mold build. Coordinate activities between Sales, Design, CNC Machining, Toolmaking, Quality, and Sampling departments. Work with external suppliers and subcontractors to support quality, cost, and on-time delivery requirements. Quality & Continuous Improvement Help ensure projects meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards. Maintain accurate project records and documentation in accordance with company procedures and ISO requirements. Support mold trials, sampling activities, and validation processes. Identify opportunities to improve project tracking, communication, workflow, and execution efficiency. Learn and apply project management standards and best practices in preparation for future advancement into a Project Manager role. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience in plastic injection mold building, toolmaking, or a related manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of toolmaking processes, including: Mold design review CNC machining EDM Mold assembly Sampling and validation Experience working with plastic injection molds or precision tooling. Ability to use CAD viewers to review mold designs and engineering changes. High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training, apprenticeship, or additional manufacturing education preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Pay:
$32.00 - $36.00 per hour
