Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and successful completion of commercial and industrial construction projects. This position works closely with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, field superintendents, project coordinators, and Chappa Construction leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the expected quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the project and is responsible for keeping the job moving from contract award through final completion and closeout.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work. Develop and maintain project schedules and milestones. Establish project budgets and monitor costs throughout the project. Manage project changes, including pricing, documentation, and approvals. Track project progress and identify potential problems before they become major issues. Coordinate work between Chappa Construction personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, and engineers. Conduct and participate in project meetings. Maintain accurate project documentation and records. Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices and pay applications. Manage project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and final documentation. Field Coordination Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to coordinate day-to-day construction activities. Provide the field team with the information and resources needed to keep the project moving. Help resolve field conflicts, design issues, material delays, and other construction challenges. Make regular jobsite visits and maintain awareness of project progress and conditions. Support Chappa Construction's commitment to a safe and organized jobsite. Financial Management Establish and maintain project budgets. Monitor job costs, commitments, labor, materials, subcontractors, and projected costs. Identify potential cost overruns and develop corrective action plans. Review change orders and ensure costs are properly captured. Track project profitability and communicate financial concerns to management. Assist with project forecasting and monthly financial reporting. Customer & Team Relationships Maintain strong working relationships with owners and customers. Communicate project status, schedule, budget, and issues clearly and professionally. Represent Chappa Construction in a professional manner at all times. Build productive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers. Promote teamwork and communication between the office and field. Address problems directly and work toward practical solutions. Safety & Quality Support and enforce Chappa Construction's safety expectations and procedures. Work with the Superintendent and field personnel to identify and address safety concerns. Promote quality workmanship and adherence to plans, specifications, and project requirements. Help ensure projects meet applicable codes, regulations, and contractual requirements. Qualifications 3+ years of construction project management experience preferred. Commercial and/or industrial construction experience preferred. Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and budgets. Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software. Ability to work effectively with both field and office personnel. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Ability to walk construction sites and navigate uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, and changing site conditions. Occasional early mornings, evenings, or extended hours based on project requirements. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
