Job Description

Help Make a Difference in the Community Are you passionate about youth development, leadership, and creating opportunities for teens to succeed? Join the United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County and play a key role in shaping the future of young people in our community. This role is an in person job in Carpinteria, California at our Carpinteria Unit.
Schedule:
Shifts are typically Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.
School Breaks:
Schedules during Winter Break, Spring Break, Summer Break, and Fall Break may vary, as programs operate between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. during these periods.
Overview:
As the Assistant Club Director , you will partner with the Club Director to oversee daily Club operations, promote membership growth, engage volunteers, ensure financial accountability, and support impactful youth programs. This position has a special focus on strengthening our Teen Program and supporting our College Bound Program.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Club Operations Partner with the Club Director to oversee daily Unit operations. Assume full responsibility for Club operations in the absence of the Club Director. Implement Club best practices, procedures, and organizational standards. Support daily schedules to ensure structure, consistency, and quality program Teen Development & College Bound Support Help grow, facilitate, and strengthen the Teen Program. Provide mentorship and guidance during critical stages of youth development. Support the College Bound Coordinator with the College Bound Program at the Carpinteria Unit. Reward positive behaviors and encourage youth engagement and achievement. Volunteer Recruitment & Community Engagement Recruit, train, and support volunteers. Create and communicate volunteer opportunities. Build partnerships with parents, community leaders, schools, and local organizations. Represent UBGC at community council meetings, Club events, and fundraising activities. Promote Club programs and services to increase community awareness and participation. Youth & Family Support Exercise sound judgment in addressing concerns involving members, staff, parents, and community stakeholders. Apply the Club's guidance and discipline procedures appropriately. Maintain regular communication with members, parents, school staff, and community partners. Foster a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for all youth. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Track daily income and expenses, including donations, payments, and snack shack cash boxes. Prepare and process daily deposits. Monitor facility rental income, balances, and related records. Manage all aspects of facility rentals. Submit invoices and communicate with families regarding outstanding balances. Maintain accurate member records, including confidential information, payment plans, and surveys. Ensure attendance, incident reports, mentoring records, and other required documentation are entered accurately and on time. Safety & Facility Management Maintain a healthy, safe, and positive environment. Ensure Club facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained and operational. Support risk management and safety procedures throughout the Club. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. Minimum of two years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth-serving organization overseeing daily operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with youth, families, staff, and community leaders. Experience addressing behavioral and discipline-related situations with youth. Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Experience supporting fundraising events and community engagement efforts. Experience supporting teen development and college readiness programs preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
