This vital role involves supervising staff, managing resident needs, coordinating services, and maintaining a secure and welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, those with behavioral health conditions, and families from underserved communities. Responsibilities Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality care and services to residents, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Oversee daily operations of the residence, including safety protocols, security measures, and emergency response procedures. Coordinate intake assessments, case management activities, and service planning for residents with complex needs such as mental health conditions or substance use disorders. Provide crisis intervention and conflict management to de-escalate tense situations effectively while maintaining resident confidentiality. Assist with medication administration, behavioral health support, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools for accurate record-keeping. Facilitate communication between residents, families, community partners, and service providers to promote collaborative care. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations through manual handling procedures, first aid readiness, CPR certification, and ongoing staff training. Requirements Proven supervising experience in residential or community-based settings. Strong background in childcare, social work, behavioral health, or home & community care environments. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or from culturally diverse communities. Knowledge of addiction counseling techniques, crisis intervention strategies, de-escalation techniques, and conflict management. Ability to handle high-risk populations with sensitivity and professionalism while maintaining resident confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; data entry and filing skills are essential for documentation accuracy. Certifications in first aid, CPR, manual handling, and medication administration are required or highly preferred. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to work effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams. Experience working with youth or individuals with mental health conditions is advantageous; familiarity with intake processes is also beneficial.
