Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our multifamily property management team. In this role, you will support the overall operation and leasing activities of a residential community, ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with all applicable regulations. Your proactive approach will help foster positive resident relationships, streamline administrative processes, and contribute to the property's success. Responsibilities Assist in managing day-to-day property operations, including leasing, resident relations, and maintenance coordination. Support lease or rental agreement management by preparing, reviewing, and executing contracts in accordance with company policies and legal standards. Utilize property management tools such as Appfolio and OneSite to maintain accurate data entry, tenant records, and financial reports. Handle client communication with professionalism via phone, email, and in person to address inquiries, resolve issues, and upsell available services or units. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Landlord-Tenant laws, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 programs, and other relevant legal requirements. Assist in budgeting processes and expense tracking to support financial performance goals. Coordinate property maintenance activities, including vendor communication and facilities management to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment. Support conflict management efforts by mediating resident concerns professionally and efficiently. Maintain organized filing systems for legal documents, contracts, inspection reports, and other administrative records. Contribute to team management by collaborating with leasing agents, maintenance staff, and senior managers to meet operational objectives. Experience Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles within a multifamily or residential setting. Familiarity with property management software such as Appfolio, OneSite, or comparable tools is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations and related legal frameworks. Demonstrated ability in customer service excellence and client relationship management. Experience with lease or rental agreement management from drafting to execution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and correspondence purposes. Effective conflict resolution skills combined with negotiation abilities to manage tenant relations smoothly. Office experience including data entry, filing systems (physical and electronic), and general administrative tasks is essential. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
