Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Life Skills Center "LSC" Program Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of a community center. This includes everything from programming and events to facility management and staff supervision. The director ensures that the center serves the community effectively by offering a wide range of services and activities that meet the needs and interests of its members. Serve as liaisons between their organization and the community, working to build relationships with community leaders, schools, and other organizations. Their primary duty is to plan, implement, and manage programs that meet the needs of a specific community or population. The goal is to ensure every program is completed successfully to add the highest possible value to the organization and program participants. This role requires a combination of strong organizational skills, experience in community relations, and a genuine passion for enhancing community life.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, organize, and operate, the delivery of programs and services in accordance with the mission, vision, values, goals, and strategic plan of The Life Skills Community Center.
  • Develop and implement programs and activities that meet the needs of the community.
  • Foster partnerships with local organizaions
  • Promote the community center and its services to the public
  • Coordinating community outreach events
  • Develop and Create flyers, calendars, newsletters; etc.
  • Organize community events and activities
  • Create and nurture effective communication within the staff and agencies.
  • Build a strong team through open communication and by collaborating on decision-making responsibilities.
  • Recruit and Develop partnerships with community agencies and organizations
  • Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines and milestones.
  • Leads and facilitates ongoing planning efforts of community partners to achieve academic and social outcomes
  • Establishes and maintains procedures to adequately document program activities
  • Ensures student and programmatic evaluation activities are consistently implemented
  • Provide direction/communication/support to all collaborative agencies and organizations
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Foster the development of family-school-community relations
  • Foster the development of sustainable programming
  • Ensure a safe environment for all participants, staff, partners, and families
  • Actively engage community agencies in providing support services to families, specifically literacy efforts and interventions
  • Cultivate a culture that embraces a continuous program quality improvement cycle
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Community Development, Social Work or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in public adminstration or a similar role developing, planning, creating and managing programs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide teams, along with excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop initiatives that align with organizational goals.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of engaging with diver Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other management software
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position regularly involves lifting, bending, standing, walking, jumping, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, grasping, and running. This position works around youth, adolescents, and adults with moderate exposure to noise. This position also works indoors and outdoors often utilizing the gym, games room, and outdoor fields and play areas.
