Job Description

Position Description & Details Job Title:
Resident/Student Life Assistant Pay Rate:
$15.00 / hour
Hours:
10-15 hours per week (Hours will vary depending on events and needs)
Position Overview:
The Office of Student Affairs is seeking a dependable student worker to fill the role of Resident/Student Life Assistant. This position provides essential operational, administrative, and community support to the department. The ideal candidate is a responsible student leader dedicated to enhancing the overall campus environment and assisting leadership with day-to-day residence hall and student activities operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Housing Operations:
Assist with overseeing housing operations and managing residence hall logistics such as openings/closings, room changes, key control, and facility maintenance.
Student Engagement:
Assist with supporting student engagement through programming and outreach initiatives.
Crisis & Emergency Support:
Respond to crises and emergencies, providing student support and coordinating referrals to campus resources. (
Note:
May be part of the emergency contact tree for nights and weekends).
Campus Partnerships:
Foster student success through collaboration and partnerships across campus departments and services.
Operations & Communication:
Maintain clear communication with leadership, support campus operations (including duty rotation), and assist with initiatives that enhance the student experience.
Position Requirements:
Must be a currently enrolled student at Mayville State University in good academic standing. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate varying event needs, including potential evening or weekend emergency tree coverage. Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining student confidentiality.
Preferences:
Preference given to those who live on campus or have lived on campus.
