Office Manager Reports to: Executive Director We have an opening for a part time administrative assistant to help manage our day to day operations. Office work background required and ARTS background preferred. We are searching for a love of the arts, an understanding of nonprofits and customer service and a sense of urgency to differentiate our community center. Schedule:
25-30 hours per week part time - suggested on site office hours of 1-7 PM Monday through Friday in our nonprofit art center in Haddonfield NJ -Weekend on call support and occasional need to be physically present on site or part of a conference call on as needed prescheduled basis To apply please send a resume and cover letter to on or before Friday August 21, 2026.

Markeim Arts Center:
Markeim Arts Center is a nonprofit community art center founded in 1956. Markeim is located at Lincoln Avenue and Walnut Street in Haddonfield just a few steps from the town's historic business district. Markeim offers programs for the entire family including a yearlong schedule of studio and pottery classes, art camps as well as other programming and exhibitions. Markeim is dedicated to providing art and cultural programs for the regional community.
Duties:
This position is responsible for providing general administrative support as needed, including but not limited to: Serve as first point of contact for the organization (gallery hours, class turn over support, teacher liaison, phone and message return, rental inquiries and walk throughs) Manage bookings of venue rentals, including contract and deposit process, event check list review, booking teachers for staffed art parties or private pottery or art classes held onsite Support Markeim email account under ED direction Support building maintenance (light bulbs, exterior landscape and interior cleaning coordination, monitoring bathroom supplies, sweeping entrance paths) Schedule and meet with contractors as needed - electrician, plumber, etc. Host exhibit gallery walk throughs during scheduled work hours Support response to ad hoc requests as they come in from customers and different organizations in town Support basic bookkeeping tasks including bill paying, check cutting, mailing checks, making deposits, invoicing, running financial reports, assisting with annual audits etc. Purchase supplies and keep storage room stocked and organized Attend weekly staff meeting with executive director Attend Board meetings when requested (once per month, 3rd Wednesday, 2 hours maximum) Report weekly status to Exec Director in written report form Maintain organizational files and documents Manage donor/member database, send thank you notes Manage repair and maintenance of office equipment, including computers, phones and printers Perform general administrative support Special Events Assist with scheduling of rentals and sublet rentals Assist with coordination of event logistics Assist with booking rental of venue and prep/breakdown as needed (including scheduling cleaning crew) Provide rental tours Occasional assistance with rental set up Manage cleaning crew scheduling 3. Communication Assist with donor communications, including appeal and thank you letters Coordinate mailings as directed Maintain organizational archives Support marketing function of ED as requested 4. Executive Director Qualifications:
Minimum two years related office management experience; nonprofit experience a plus. Please be prepared with multiple references and a resume. Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing - G Suite or Word preferred Self motivated and sense of urgency a must. Strong attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skill and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision. Excellent phone manner, customer service oriented attitude. Ability to operate and troubleshoot standard office equipment. Interest in and commitment to MAC and community art center mission is helpful. Familiarity with Quickbooks a plus.
