Full Job Description Who We Are:
Since 1930, MJ Peterson Real Estate is Western New York's only full service real estate company. We own and manage over 3,000 residential units in the Western New York area, ranging from market rate apartments to Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Senior/Multifamily Affordable communities. Join Our Team! We have a need for a Property Manager in the Tonawanda/Amherst area.
Key Responsibilities:
Tenant Relations:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with tenants, addressing their concerns, inquires, and requests promptly and professionally. Implement strategies to ensure tenant retention and satisfaction, such as organizing events, fostering a sense of community, and addressing tenant needs. 2. Rent Collection and Financial Management Collect rent from tenants in a timely manner and enforce rent collection policies. Assist tenants in understanding their rental obligations and offer support for financial management. Monitor and manage the property's budget, ensuring expenses are within approved limits. Collaborate with accounting and finance departments to ensure accurate recordkeeping and financial reporting. 3. Maintenance and Repairs Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely and cost effective resolution of issues. Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly. Collaborate with contractors and vendors to obtain competitive bids and select reliable service providers. Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, expenses, and warranties. 4. Lease Administration Oversee the lease application process, including screening prospective tenants, conducting background checks, and verifying income eligibility, Prepare and execute lease agreements, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and policies. Enforce lease terms and policies, including addressing lease violations and initiating eviction processes when necessary. Qualifications Property Management Experience • Previous property management experience required. Familiar with Yardi Property Management software a plus. . Communication Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with tenants, staff, and external stakeholders. Organizational Skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines is crucial in a fast-paced environment. Problem-Solving Aptitude for identifying and resolving issues related to tenant concerns, property maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Financial Management Basic knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and rent collection procedures.
