Program Manager, High Mountain Youth Project Youth Homeless Demonstration Project/Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing Program Organization:

The goal of the Youth Homeless Demonstration Project (YHDP) is to support selected communities across the United States in the development and implementation of a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness. A goal of the Southern New Mexico YHDP is to increase housing opportunities for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness through the development of transitional housing and rapid rehousing projects.

Position Summary:

The YHDP Program Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of the High Mountain Youth Project Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing Program. This role requires a strong understanding of youth homelessness, homelessness prevention strategies, and project management skills. The Program Manager will work closely with youth and young adults up through age 24, the Youth Action Board, community partners, and government agencies to ensure the successful implementation of the program and achievement of its goals. Director of Programs Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:

Develop and implement comprehensive program plans and strategies aligned with YHDP goals and objectives. Collaborate with the Youth Action Board at all stages of program implementation, program evaluation, and decision-making processes. Oversee the development and implementation of various program components, such as outreach, assessment, housing placement, and case management. Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements and data quality standards. Monitor program progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure effective outcomes and continuous quality improvement.

Community Partnerships:

Build and maintain strong relationships with the Youth Action Board, community partners, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private businesses. Collaborate with partners to identify and address the needs of youth experiencing homelessness. Facilitate cross-agency collaboration and coordination to ensure efficient service delivery.

Data Management and Reporting:

Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes and performance. Prepare regular reports and presentations to the Youth Action Board, stakeholders, including funders, community partners, and government agencies. Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements and data quality standards.

Staff Supervision and Training:

Recruit, hire, and supervise program staff. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Ensure staff adherence to program policies and procedures.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the program budget. Monitor expenditures and ensure efficient use of resources. Prepare and submit grant proposals to secure funding for the program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, a related field or assigned program specific specialty Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of homelessness or youth services. Strong understanding of youth homelessness issues and effective intervention strategies. Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience with data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of grant writing and fundraising.
