Salaried Exempt Position Description:
Provide support to VP - Public Affairs and serve as conduit between diverse stakeholders and project team. in support of external relations strategies that promote company objectives in government and public arenas at the local, state and federal level. Reports to the Vice President, Public Affairs. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities•: Keep abreast of local, State and Federal political news; prepare summaries of issues relevant to construction industry and local projects for distribution to company management teams. Conduct research to identify and maintain current contact information for and understand organizational structures of City and State agencies responsible for securing permits for projects. Prepare materials (e.g., presentations, talking points) for VP, Public Affairs to present at panel presentations, community outreach events, and internal company and management presentations. Collaborate with Community & Citizenship teams to provide assistance with outreach to Underrepresented Business Enterprises (UBEs) companies, understand UBE project compliance contract requirements, and provide support for coordination of volunteer events/activities. Attend civic events as directed, to discern information and opportunities relevant to local office and projects. Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. #LI-AM1
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program with minimum of 3 years of experience in politics, government, public affairs, or similar role, or equivalent education, training, and experience Professional verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders across organizational levels Familiar with local city and state agencies for permits Familiar with Underrepresented Business Enterprises (UBEs) and able to understand project contract requirements Self-starter with ability to prioritize concurrent tasks and deliver high quality work with tight deadlines Ability to work in non-structured environment, with minimal oversight, take direction without continuous follow-up, and work with multiple project teams Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and timely documentation Resourceful, possess research, problem-solving, and data analysis skills Approachable, proactive, and professional attitude and with professional presentation delivery skills Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills to engage with various levels of stakeholders Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications and collaborative tools Limited travel required
