August 10th About Snyder County The government of Snyder County exists to assist, directly or indirectly, all citizens of the County. All County personnel are expected to be dedicated to serving the public with respect, professionalism, and integrity, free from prejudice or bias. Position Overview Snyder County is seeking a high-integrity, detail-oriented leader to serve as the Director of Elections . This role oversees all aspects of countywide election operations, ensuring efficient, transparent, and fair administration of federal, state, and local elections, as well as voter registration services. The Director provides strategic leadership to the Elections Office, manages election security, maintains legal compliance, and serves as the primary spokesperson for county election operations.
Key Responsibilities Election Administration:
Plan, organize, and manage primary, general, and special elections. Oversee polling place setups, voting equipment, official ballot distribution, and election day worker coordination.
Voter Registration Supervision:
Supervise voter registration processes, online/absentee voting, and maintenance of accurate voter rolls.
Compliance & Security:
Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal election laws. Implement robust physical and digital security protocols to safeguard election integrity.
Public & Media Relations:
Serve as the official media and public spokesperson for the Elections Office. Lead voter education and outreach efforts.
Reporting & Audits:
Prepare election results, turnout reports, and manage documentation for state reporting, audits, and recounts.
Strategic & Operational Planning:
Participate in budget development, strategic planning, and ongoing staff/elections training.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in elections administration, voter registration, public communication, or a related field is preferred. Supervisory experience in government or non-profit settings is preferred..
Knowledge & Skills:
Solid understanding of federal, state, and local election laws and regulations. Proficiency with election technology, voting machines, and voter registration databases. Excellent communication, organizational, and data analysis skills. Unwavering discretion, discretion with sensitive data, and commitment to public trust.
Physical & Schedule Requirements:
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during election cycles. Ability to lift and transport election materials/equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
