Position Summary Do you have excellent excel skills and looking to support a growing eComerce company supporting a fast paced purchasing team? In this role you would be responsible for the optimization of buying decisions, using data to maximize sales and margin, and minimize inventory risk, for product lines under your responsibility. Also responsible for assisting Category Managers with the life cycle management of products.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and supplier metrics using various tools and Excel functions to support data-driven buying decisions. Create and manage purchase orders in alignment with forecasted demand, sales patterns, and promotional calendars. Follow-up with vendors on order status, lead times, backorders, and delivery schedules. Support product transitions (new/discontinued SKUs) through timely purchasing and clear handoff to the appropriate team(s). Collaborate with Category Managers to align purchase timing with product life cycles and business goals. Assist Category Managers with tracking and managing required vendor forms & files such as vendor programs, price files, MAP/MRP policies, co-op policies. Assist Category Managers and Merchandisers with product research and web content. Support the team with ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 1-2 years of experience in a business analyst, merchandising analyst, or purchasing/buying support role (preferably in eCommerce or retail). Basic business math required, must have the ability to interpret data trends and translate findings into actionable buying decisions. Proficiency in Excel (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, nested IFs). Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing relational databases a plus. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Work Environment:
Office - This position is based in a professional office setting within a marine sales environment. This role involves heavy computer use and some phone communication, with work typically performed in a cubicle or private office. The atmosphere is generally quiet and conducive to focused, independent work. Occasional in-person meetings with customers or vendors may take place in a shared conference room. The employee should be comfortable navigating a collaborative, yet largely self-directed, office environment.

Pay:
$45,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
