Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for a Buyer in Training position. This role is designed to develop foundational purchasing and material planning skills while supporting the plant's daily operations. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, collaborate, and grow within the purchasing team. Responsibilities Learn and apply basic purchasing procedures by working closely with experienced buyers Develop an understanding of the JDE material planning process Gain proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.); prior experience is helpful but not required Assist with supplier communication, including placing orders and expediting materials Build strong communication with internal teams (supervisors, leads, customer service) Participate in daily production meetings, supporting material shortage reviews (component hot sheet) Support material readiness for new business programs Continue developing skills to support purchasing operations and contribute to team success Requirements Strong willingness to learn and take initiative Good organizational and communication skills Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in purchasing and supply chain.
