Purchasing Assistant Details:

Direct Hire position $52,000.00 to $62,400.00 /annually First Shift Work at the center of a multi-million-dollar purchasing operation, using product, sales, and inventory data to support smart buying decisions. Analyze large product and sales data sets to identify trends, forecast needs, and translate findings into what should be purchased and when. Calculate order quantities, pallet counts, and truckload optimization using product dimensions, sales history, and branch needs. Maintain purchase orders, product information, and pricing data accurately in the ERP system. Investigate errors, cost drivers, data trends, and order discrepancies rather than simply processing transactions. Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams to confirm availability, pricing, timelines, order status, and shipment details. Grow into a more strategic purchasing role over time by learning the business, improving processes, and building strong product knowledge.

Purchasing Assistant Qualifications:

Strong Excel skills, including comfort with pivot tables, lookups, and building analysis from large data sets. Quantitative and analytical thinker who can reason through numbers and turn data into a clear business answer. Able to complete practical Excel-based tasks such as forecasting product needs from monthly sales data and calculating pallet or truckload capacity from product dimensions. Detail oriented at volume, with the ability to stay accurate while working through large amounts of purchasing, product, and pricing data quickly. Capable of learning complicated, multi-step purchasing processes and executing them reliably. Positive, growth-minded, and interested in building a long-term career in purchasing, inventory, supply chain, or operations. Experience with purchasing, inventory, supply chain, data analysis, ERP systems, order-management systems, or customer/vendor communication is preferred.
