Job Summary:

MS Companies is recruiting a Lead Master Scheduler for a confidential manufacturing client in Leeds, AL. The plant builds engineered electrical equipment for utility and industrial customers in a make-to-order / engineer-to-order environment. This person owns the full-facility production schedule and leads ~5 production schedulers.

Day-to-day work is hands-on:

order review, past-due recovery, forecasting from backlog and safety stock, SAP planning, and a monthly KPI pack for the Materials Manager. The ideal candidate has scheduled production lines in manufacturing, can discuss SAP T-codes in an interview, has led planners &/or schedulers, and can justify date and lead-time changes with data. This is not a logistics, warehouse, or production-planner-only role. Required Skills & Qualifications

  •  Manufacturing production-line scheduling experience in discrete manufacturing (not warehouse, logistics, food, or finance SOP).
  •
Hands-on SAP/MRP:

PP and MM required; WM preferred. Ability to discuss T-codes for material master, planning, MRP, work-order scheduling, exception messages, and master-data corrections.

  •  Experience leading planners or schedulers, including coaching, covering absences, training, and addressing performance.
  •  Forecasting, capacity/planning judgment, and ownership of schedule attainment.
  •  Advanced Excel and comfort presenting KPIs in PowerPoint.
  •  Available onsite Monday-Friday, approximately 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:00am-5:00pm; occasional overtime only.
  •  Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  •  Direct make-to-order / engineer-to-order experience, or equivalent high-mix discrete manufacturing with customer-date pressure.
  •  Full-facility schedule ownership versus commodity-only planning.
  •  Proven reduction of past-due orders and improvement in on-time delivery and forecast accuracy.
  •  Bachelor's degree.
  •  Experience recommending committed-date and lead-time changes from demonstrated plant performance.
  •  Open to relocating to the Birmingham / Leeds, AL area. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  •  Own the entire plant production schedule and lead five production schedulers — coach, cover, train, and hold the team accountable.
  •  Review new sales orders and schedule additions daily; open work orders and keep shipment dates current.
  •  Work past-due orders and SAP exception messages; put recovery plans in place and communicate revised shipment timing.
  •  Build and maintain the production forecast from planned units per day, prior-month PSI, current backlog, and safety-stock gaps.
  •  Recommend changes to committed dates and lead times when material, capacity, equipment, or demand puts the plan at risk — with data to support the recommendation.
  •  Review SAP master data and propose corrections when plant data is inaccurate.
  •  Deliver monthly KPIs to the
Materials Manager:

schedule attainment, on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, past-due reduction, root cause, and corrective action.

  •  Support cross-functional schedule meetings and plant continuous-improvement forums.

Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, and work performed in a manufacturing plant office with regular time on the production floor. Standard plant noise and safety requirements apply. Company Benefits & Culture

  •  Direct-hire role with a manufacturer of engineered electrical equipment.
  •  Competitive base salary ($90,000-$115,000) plus 10% performance bonus.
  •  Relocation considered case-by-case for a true fit (lump sum or actuals).
  •  First-shift schedule, about 40 hours per week, occasional OT only.
  •  Opportunity to lead a team of five schedulers and own the full plant schedule.
  •  Competitive benefits package through the client; details shared with qualified candidates.
