This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Operations. POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Coordinator, Commercial Operations is responsible for the daily commercial operations and performance of Moran Towing Corporation's ocean barge fleet which consists of five dry bulk barges and nine liquid tank barges organized within two operating divisions. This position is essential for the successful management of the Moran barge fleet because the incumbent coordinates between Moran's customers, marine personnel, and other management team members. This position offers the opportunity to learn and grow within the Company and provides exposure to other businesses and industries with particular emphasis on commercial transactions in the marine transportation arena.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
INCLUDE, but are not limited, to the following: Communicates with customers by providing timely and accurate updates concerning vessel traffic. Interfaces with Moran's vessels/crew members, vessel managers, customers, inspectors, and terminals. Recognizes, implements, and ensures the timely fulfillment of negotiated charter party terms and conditions. Prepares clear and accurate invoices including freight and demurrage. Inputs data into Moran's voyage tracking computer programs. Reviews and ensures proper account coding of vendor invoices, and initiates rebill invoice packages as appropriate. Organizes, manages, and maintains all documents associated with Moran voyages. Prepares and submits all necessary regulatory, customer, and terminal reports and forms as appropriate. Creates load and discharge plans for vessels. Assigns and designates the Drybulk barge personnel as needed. Participates in weekend duty as needed. Responds to after hour communications, as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a maritime or related field. Proficiency in MS Office. Valid driver's license and safe driving record must be maintained during employment. The incumbent must adhere to the requirements of Moran Towing Corporation's Driver Safety Policy. Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Demonstrated ability to work well with logistics and attention to detail. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and as a team player. Ability and willingness to work after hours in a 24/7 business. Ability and willingness to travel (about 5% to 10%) to see customers and attend to vessels at shipyards or terminals as required. Preferred Qualifications IMOS/Veson experience.

Our target pay range for the Operations Coordinator, Commercial Operations position is $70,000 - $75,000 per year. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
