Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build and maintain the production schedule for six processing machines, including coil cutting and finishing work such as cut to length, shear, saw, polishing, and PVC application. Enter internal processing orders in the company system using specifications provided by Inventory Planning and other authorized teams; check entries for completeness and accuracy. Review customer orders, stock replenishment, and transfer orders to Tampa. Distinguish customer committed work from stock work and sequence jobs according to business priorities and due dates. Coordinate daily with the Production Manager and shop team to understand machine availability, staffing, shift coverage, processing constraints, and expected throughput. Plan workable job sequences based on material type, gauge, dimensions, machine capabilities, changeovers, and other production considerations. Reassess the schedule as new orders, urgent needs, capacity changes, or delays arise. Communicate changes and expected completion timing to Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Inventory Planning, and Production. Track scheduled work through completion, identify potential bottlenecks or missed commitments, and escalate conflicts or capacity concerns to the General Manager and Production Manager. Maintain accurate scheduling records and support improvements to order flow and equipment utilization. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience in production scheduling, order coordination, manufacturing administration, or a related role preferred. Experience in a metals service center is a plus. Ability to analyze competing priorities, production capacity, and order requirements and revise plans promptly when conditions change. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow through in a high volume environment. Clear communication skills and ability to work closely with sales, inventory, and shop personnel. Comfort using order entry or ERP systems and standard office software; ability to learn equipment and material specific scheduling rules.
