part-time Job Description Event Strategies, Inc. (ESI) is a full service event production company based in Alexandria, VA. ESI is seeking motivated and dependable Operations Interns to join our team for the Fall and Winter 2026 months. Operations Interns play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the company and assisting departments across the organization. This position provides hands-on experience in business operations, event logistics, project coordination, inventory management, administrative support, and office operations while contributing to the planning and execution of high-profile live events, conferences, tours, and special projects nationwide. Interns will work alongside ESI's Operations, Project Management, Production, Finance, and Administrative teams to help ensure the office, warehouse, and active projects operate efficiently. This internship is designed for individuals looking to gain practical experience in a fast-paced environment while learning how a national event production company operates behind the scenes. Responsibilities Assist the Chief of Operations, Project Managers, and Operations Managers in both the daily operation of the company and the execution of events by creating production schedules, trip summaries, tracking expenses, and assisting in vendor sourcing Support pre-event planning by preparing meeting agendas, taking notes during internal and client calls, and tracking action items and deliverables. Create and manage transportation logistics for both equipment and personnel to and from event sites. This includes sourcing hotel room blocks, tracking flights and rental cars Responsible for the upkeep of collaborative documents and administrative materials for all ESI projects Responsible for conducting venue research, vendor sourcing, and vendor research projects Assist the Office Manager in the day-to-day upkeep of the ESI headquarters, including organizing storage areas, managing office supplies, and supporting shipping and receiving for events and tours. Occasionally provide on-site support during events, ensuring everything runs smoothly and addressing any issues that may arise Assist with post-event wrap-up, including organizing and archiving event files, collecting photos and documentation, and contributing to internal debrief notes and lessons-learned summaries Qualifications Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Ability to work independently and collaboratively Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, vendors, and team members Willingness to assist with both office-based and hands-on operational tasks Ability to lift event materials and equipment when necessary Experience Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Operations Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field preferred Previous office, customer service, logistics, warehouse, or event experience is a plus but not required Interest in business operations, project management, logistics, government events, or live event production Compensation $15/hour Environment Work is performed primarily at ESI's Alexandria, Virginia office, with opportunities to support projects throughout the Washington, DC region and select nationwide events. Interns should expect a combination of office work, warehouse operations, project coordination, and occasional on-site event responsibilities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
