The overall purpose of the Staffing Coordinator position is to utilize the organizational tools provided to ensure adequate staffing and scheduling of the nursing staff. Staffing personnel in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times. Also, to perform clerical duties as needed for Nursing Management of the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include the following. This list is not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive. There may be additional essential functions based on the unique nature of the position or environment. Prepares schedule for the nursing department by scheduling all Licensed Nurses (RN/LPN) and C.N.A.'s to ensure state mandated staffing ratios (PPD) are maintained. Monitor overtime and make daily staffing adjustments according to census needs. Maintain daily roster sheets for each shift. Daily review of previous day's time clock punches with schedules. Seek supervisor approval(s) for exemptions, missing punches, absences, etc. Retrieve, organize and store all staffing related forms (sign-in sheets, assignment sheets, schedules, etc). Complete weekly schedule report and provide to corporate. Completes daily staffing and posts as required. Maintain state mandated ratios pertaining to staffing and ensure adequate RN coverage. When necessary, works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays. Demonstrates satisfactory level of interpersonal skills to interact with facility staff, Administration, residents, families, vendors and government agencies. Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions. Understands the importance of and respect for the rights dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions. Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property. Demonstrates respect for co-workers and responds to needs of residents by complying with facility policies. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties within allotted time. Attend and participate in facility meetings, as assigned. Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or
Experience:
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. 2 years office administrative experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Computer skills are required Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.
