Role Overview The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating the flow of production and materials to support manufacturing activities and on-time delivery. This role works closely with departments across the organization, including Sales, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Traffic, to develop and maintain accurate production schedules, monitor material availability, and address issues that may affect production or delivery. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlanning Utilize MRP on a daily basis to assist in planning processes. Work with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and other departments to obtain the information needed to develop accurate production schedules. Confirm material supply and demand. Identify, communicate, and mitigate obstacles to meeting the schedule with the necessary stakeholders. Work with internal teams and Procurement to understand and communicate needs and ensure planning-system data accurately reflects expectations. Advise management of work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Develop or implement production tracking and analyze production and other operational reports to detect production problems. Scheduling Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and product quality meet specifications. Schedule and expedite the movement of parts through work orders and Production Schedule. Coordinate interdepartmental activity with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, and Shipping, and other departments as required. Timely report unavailable and backordered items to Operations. Relay information regarding shipment delays and work to resolve them. Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Serve as an assistant to expedite and support on-time delivery of products. Distribute and maintain necessary reports and data to ensure effective communication within the department and with other dependent personnel and departments. Inventory Control Maintain accurate inventory levels for all warehouses monthly or more frequently as necessary. Perform weekly Cycle Counts and report results. Check deliveries against demand to ensure product is needed. Control material movement within warehouses using movement journals, cycle counts, and scrap journals. Perform safety stock calculations quarterly and adjust seasonally based on demand. Report unavailable and backordered items to Purchasing and Sales. Work with Procurement to understand and communicate material needs. Work Order Management Open and launch work orders as required and monitor open work orders to ensure they are closed in a timely manner. Work with Engineering on the custom order process to ensure work orders are created and Operations has the necessary orders and drawings to complete custom orders in a timely manner. Perform root cause analysis to correct processes or BOMs. Close work orders daily and monitor timeliness from production. Perform Work Order Management Analysis on a monthly basis to streamline production efficiency. Qualifications and Education High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. 3+ years of prior experience in Production Planning or Scheduling preferred. Proficient in standard business application software and manufacturing/enterprise resource planning systems; D365 experience is a plus. Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn customized software and products quickly. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities. General understanding of product and material specifications. Ability to apply standard industry practices and techniques in specific situations. Ability to manage small projects/programs with limited assistance from others.

$58,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
