Job Description

Position Summary Our client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to coordinate and manage maintenance planning and scheduling activities within a busy manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring maintenance work is properly planned, prioritized, scheduled, and completed efficiently while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting overall plant reliability. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will develop detailed job plans, coordinate daily work schedules for multiple supervisors and a maintenance team of up to 20 technicians, manage preventive maintenance activities, and serve as the plant administrator for the maintenance management system. This position requires someone who is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and able to coordinate effectively with maintenance technicians, supervisors, production teams, engineering, purchasing, and plant leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and schedule preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance activities for facility and production equipment. Develop detailed maintenance job plans that identify required labor, estimated hours, materials, replacement parts, tools, equipment, safety requirements, and work procedures. Prepare and maintain daily maintenance schedules for multiple supervisors and up to 20 maintenance technicians. Coordinate the complete maintenance workflow, including work identification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution, completion, and auditing. Prioritize maintenance activities based on production requirements, equipment condition, safety considerations, available resources, and operational needs. Coordinate planned maintenance during scheduled production downtime as well as maintenance activities performed during normal production periods. Work closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other departments to coordinate equipment availability and minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations. Review incoming work requests and ensure sufficient information is available before jobs are released for scheduling. Identify required parts, materials, tools, and other resources in advance of scheduled maintenance activities. Generate purchase requests for non-stock parts, tools, and materials required to complete planned work. Coordinate with purchasing and storeroom personnel to ensure necessary materials are available before scheduled work begins. Develop estimated labor and material costs for maintenance projects and planned work. Track maintenance spending against established budgets and monitor key maintenance performance indicators. Establish and maintain preventive maintenance work orders, job plans, frequencies, equipment information, and maintenance history within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintain accurate equipment hierarchies and asset information within the maintenance system. Generate maintenance reports and analyze work-order and equipment data to identify trends, backlogs, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement. Serve as the plant's primary maintenance system administrator and provide system support and training to maintenance personnel. Assist maintenance leadership in evaluating maintenance backlog, technician utilization, schedule compliance, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance effectiveness. Supervise and coordinate activities of storeroom personnel as assigned. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, maintenance processes, planning effectiveness, and operational efficiency. Communicate maintenance schedules, priorities, changes, and potential conflicts to supervisors, technicians, production teams, and plant leadership. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Technology, Logistics, Industrial Technology, or a related field; or equivalent Journeyman status . Five or more years of plant or industrial maintenance experience; or 10+ years of general maintenance experience with at least two years of maintenance planning experience . Previous experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, work-order management, and maintenance planning processes. Ability to develop detailed job plans, including labor requirements, materials, tools, procedures, and estimated completion times. Strong organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust schedules based on changing production and maintenance requirements. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively with maintenance technicians, supervisors, production personnel, engineering teams, vendors, and plant leadership. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records and system data. Preferred Qualifications Experience administering or supporting a CMMS or enterprise asset management system. Previous responsibility for creating and maintaining preventive maintenance programs. Experience coordinating maintenance activities for a team of 15-20 or more technicians. Experience with maintenance budgeting, cost estimating, and KPI reporting. Experience with spare-parts inventory, storeroom operations, or maintenance materials management. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, reliability-centered maintenance, or continuous improvement principles. Experience in a high-volume or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
