GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Technical Production Coordinator under the direction of the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services oversees and coordinates production, audio/visual, and media services provided to internal and external groups utilizing Southern Wesleyan University's meeting, conference, banquet, and auditorium facilities. The Technical Production Coordinator is instrumental in maximizing the customer experience both internally and externally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as an A/V manager of Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center, Nicholson-Mitchell ALIVE Chapel, the Founders, Bryant Lodge, and the amphitheater. Provide audio/visual and other technical support and maintain responsibility for all media production values for events in these facilities, accomplished in an aesthetically pleasing and professional manner. Ensure events and organizers comply with Southern Wesleyan University's policies and contractual agreements. Check Resource Scheduler and manage Planning Center daily for event updates/changes and upcoming events Establish and maintain liaison relationships with University departments. Offer consulting services for internal and external meeting planners with regard to technical production needs. In support of the
Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services:
Manage volunteer and work study student teams, and actively recruit, train, and supervise students to serve as assistants as needed. (CG/Pro Presenter, Lights, Sound, Cameras, etc.) Meet the public in a cordial manner and ascertain their needs. Collaborate with the Spiritual Life department to produce chapels on a weekly basis, including special chapel services. Broadcast, record, and archive events through a SWU YouTube account and/or on DVDs. Maintain and inventory all audio-visual equipment, communicating with maintenance and IT staff for needed repairs and supplies. Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a bachelor's degree with two or more years of experience in the production, audiovisual services, and information technology industry. Exceptional organizational and customer service skills. Production and event planning experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Flexible schedule; evenings and weekend work required. SWU is committed to maximizing the use of technology in its daily operations and in achieving its strategic goals; the ideal candidate will be familiar with integrated database management systems, including reporting, and have a high comfort level with web-based, mobile and PC applications including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical/Environmental Requirements Vi s ual acuity necessary to do editorial work, proof documents, and manage files. Requires ability to sit for periods of time in an interior office environment. May require lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, and occasionally items up to 30 pounds. Pre-employment Screening . Employment is contingent on the completion a criminal background screening.
