Shipping and Receiving Associate

Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Associate plays a key role in ensuring materials, components, and finished products move efficiently through the facility. This role is responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, preparing outgoing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping:
Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy. Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to customer requirements and company standards. Create and verify shipping documents (packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels) Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped. Coordinate pickups with carriers (LTL, freight, parcel) Inspect finished goods for accuracy and quality before shipment Load trucks safely using forklifts or pallet jacks Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock Build skids and/or containers as required for protection and safe transport to their final destination. Pack disassembled components for shipment per instructions. Stage packed components for shipment.
Receiving:
Unload incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies Record receipts in the inventory or ERP system Deliver materials to appropriate departments or storage locations
Inventory & Material Handling:
Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts Organize warehouse and storage areas for efficiency and safety Replenish production materials as needed Follow FIFO or other material‑handling procedures
General:
Operate a forklift within the safety procedures and policies prescribed. Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy. Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
You should be proficient in:
Skid Steer Operation Shipping/Receiving Warehouse Experience Material Handler Experience Loading and Unloading Vehicles Tape Measure Reading Heavy Material Handling Forklift Licensed Packaging Experience High School / GED Shop Math Skills Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Basic Computer Skills Machines & technologies you'll use: RF Scanner Sit-Down Forklift Pallet Jack Circular Saw ERP Software Forklifts Band Saw
