Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage our outgoing finished goods and ensure the accurate, timely dispatch of precision metal stamping components. In this role, you will oversee order staging, packaging verification, documentation generation, and carrier coordination. The ideal candidate champions our "anti-surprise" operational culture by maintaining meticulous shipping records, verifying strict compliance with customer specifications, and ensuring zero-defect outbound logistics.
Key Responsibilities Order Processing & Staging:
Review daily shipping schedules and pick orders accurately from inventory, ensuring parts are staged, counted, and matched against customer purchase orders and release schedules.
Packaging & Labeling:
Inspect parts for proper identification and prepare shipments in accordance with customer requirements (including heat-sealed packaging, rust-preventative wrapping, custom carton labeling, and palletizing).
Shipping Documentation:
Generate accurate bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, certificates of conformance (CoC), material test reports, and international shipping paperwork as required.
Carrier Coordination:
Schedule freight pickups, coordinate with freight carriers and parcel services and obtain competitive shipping quotes.
Verification & Quality Control:
Perform outbound shipping verification checks to confirm part numbers, quantities, revision levels, and special packaging instructions before release.
Inventory & ERP Transactions:
Process shipments in the enterprise resource planning (ERP/IQMS) system in real time to maintain accurate finished goods inventory counts.
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain a clean, organized shipping dock compliant with 5S standards, OSHA guidelines, and plant safety protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 2 to 4+ years of shipping, receiving or inventory control experience within a manufacturing, machining, or metal stamping environment.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with ERP/MRP inventory software (SBT / IQMS or similar platforms preferred). Working knowledge of shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, CoCs) and carrier portals. Strong attention to detail with precise data entry and numerical accuracy. Forklift certification and safe material handling experience.
Soft Skills:
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, self-motivated work ethic, and clear cross-functional communication Physical Demands & Work Environment Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift/move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Exposure to manufacturing and warehouse floor conditions, including forklift traffic and varying ambient temperatures (personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and steel-toe boots required).
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
