Job Details:

Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is Responsible for duties associated with the handling, staging, receiving and shipping of materials.
Essential Functions/Responsibility:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Primary Responsibilities Verifies and processes incoming shipments according to department procedures Unloads trucks, checks materials against packing slips and purchase order specifications; reports shortages or substandard item Inspects incoming materials against purchase order specifications; forwards all receiving documents with purchase order Distributes materials to all appropriate departments Places materials into proper storage locations using forklift/hand truck Prepares customer orders for shipping in accordance with customer specifications Prepares skids and cartons for shipment, including taping, labeling and shrink wrapping according to QEC and customer specifications Coordinate Federal Express and UPS shipments Load trucks according to established procedures and shipping regulations Inspect forklift trucks to ensure proper operating condition Organize and maintain all supplies for the department; notify supervisor of any re-order needs Organize stock within racking system Enter all required information accurately into the computerized system Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) pertaining to area of responsibility Other duties as assigned by the
Supervisor, Shipping/Receiving Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, shipping orders, customer specifications Ability to prepare standard shipping documentation Ability to effectively communicate to carriers and other employees of the company Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to obtain a forklift operator's license and operate forklift and other manual lift equipment Ability to operate a variety of standard business machines such as a computer and keyboard, calculator, telephone, fax, photocopier, etc. Qualifications and Experience High School diploma/GED required Knowledge in freight and transportation regulations, helpful Forklift experience, helpful

PC Proficiency, forklift, Crown narrow-isle picker
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, is frequently required to stand, walk and talk or hear and use foot/feet to operate equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
