Inventory/Warehouse Manager Position Summary The Inventory/Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and maintaining accurate, efficient inventory controls. This role leads receiving, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation while ensuring a safe, organized, and productive work environment. The Inventory/Warehouse Manager works closely with purchasing, operations, sales, finance, and other departments to ensure products and materials are available when needed and inventory records remain accurate. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. Maintain accurate inventory records within the company's inventory management, warehouse management, or ERP system. Establish and monitor inventory control procedures, including cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and variance investigations. Research inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Monitor inventory levels, product movement, aging inventory, stockouts, and excess or obsolete inventory. Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to support replenishment and inventory planning. Ensure incoming materials and products are inspected, documented, labeled, and stored properly. Oversee outbound shipments to ensure orders are accurate, complete, properly packaged, and shipped on schedule. Develop warehouse layouts and workflows that improve efficiency, space utilization, accuracy, and safety. Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate warehouse team members. Set clear performance expectations and monitor productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipping. Maintain warehouse equipment and coordinate routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Enforce safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements; promptly address hazards, incidents, and unsafe practices. Maintain organized records for inventory activity, shipping and receiving, damaged goods, returns, and audits. Partner with leadership to develop operating procedures, controls, reports, and continuous-improvement initiatives. Assist with budgeting, staffing, vendor coordination, and warehouse-related purchasing. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associates degree or higher Three or more years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory-control experience. At least one year of supervisory or team-lead experience. Demonstrated experience with inventory counts, reconciliation, receiving, shipping, and warehouse processes. Proficiency with inventory-management, warehouse-management, ERP, and/or related business systems. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong leadership, organization, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy. Familiarity with OSHA standards and workplace safety practices. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, operations, or a related field. Experience implementing or improving warehouse systems, inventory controls, and standard operating procedures. Forklift certification or experience operating common warehouse equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, noise, dust, and frequent equipment movement. Ability to use computers, scanners, and other warehouse equipment.
