GED Full Job Description Linen Manager Location:
28050 Grand River Ave. Farmington Hills, MI 48336 Schedule This is a full-time leadership position supporting a hospital linen operation.
Typical Schedule:
Monday-Friday Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (may vary based on operational needs) Must be available to support all shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as needed. Position Summary The Linen Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the hospital's linen distribution program. This role oversees staffing, workflow, inventory management, quality, safety, and customer service while ensuring hospital departments receive clean linen in a timely and efficient manner. The Linen Manager serves as the primary onsite leader and works closely with hospital leadership and the Regional Distribution Manager to deliver exceptional service and drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Report directly to the Regional Distribution Manager. Lead, coach, and develop the onsite linen team. Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts. Monitor attendance, productivity, service levels, and operational performance. Oversee the receiving, distribution, replenishment, and collection of hospital linen. Perform quality inspections to ensure linen and service standards are consistently met. Build strong relationships with hospital departments and respond promptly to customer needs. Participate in hospital meetings and linen utilization committees as needed. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance coaching. Monitor linen utilization and identify opportunities to reduce loss, misuse, and waste. Submit linen orders and communicate inventory needs with the Customer Service Manager (CSM). Maintain clean, organized, and safe linen rooms and work areas. Ensure all operational records and documentation are accurate and up to date. Assist with frontline responsibilities, including building linen carts, delivering clean linen, and collecting soiled linen when needed to support daily operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications One or more years of supervisory or management experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive working relationships. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead a team. Reliable transportation. Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to frequently bend, twist, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds independently. Ability to push and pull linen carts weighing 600+ pounds (on wheels). Ability to collect and transport soiled linen throughout the hospital. Ability to work safely in a physically demanding healthcare environment. Must comply with all company and hospital safety requirements. Hospital-required vaccinations may be required.
