Colson Group USA is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Manager for the St. Joseph, MI location. The Shiping and Receiving Manager is responsible for the safety and performance of the Shipping and Receiving Team at the St. Joseph Manufacturing Site (Kerth). This will include making certain to ship orders on time and accurately, receive material from domestic and international vendors, and work with planning and production to ensure outside services are shipped and received on time. In addition, the role will be responsible for reporting and managing the appropriate metrics to improve customer service levels, improve margin expansion and cash flow, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Administers operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Ensures products, parts or supplies are shipped, distributed or received in an efficient manner. Evaluates physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment as necessary. Works with Production Manager and Supply Chain in ensuring coordination of warehouse activities such as assembly, sales, records controls and purchasing. Takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss. Ensures inventory accuracy. Prepares and reviews all distribution-related documents. Screens, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action for warehouse personnel. Participates and leads as necessary safety and facility activities. Ensures the operation meets the customer expectations for on time and accurate shipments Calculates and reports metrics needed for all areas of the shipping and receiving Requirements At least 5 years of leadership in a Distribution Center greater than 100k sq feet, 7 years preferred At least 3 years lean certified At least 3 years prior experience using an ERP and WMS system
Prefer 2 years of Epicor (ERP) knowledge Education High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred Skills Required Leadership in a Warehouse Environment Excellent Communication Preferred Lean Training Cycle count experience Product Assembly knowledge/prior manufacturing experience Forklift certification
Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment Physical Requirements Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time Required to walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day Required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform the job Required to climb ladders
